Toronto, ON – May 16, 2019 – Poor Nameless Boy has been sharing the heartfelt songs from his latest EP, Wake Up Call, with audiences across western Canada since its March release, and now he is setting his sights on the east. Marking his debut on eastern Canadian stages, Poor Nameless Boy will head to Ontario for stops in Ottawa and Toronto, before heading to the Maritimes for a string of shows through June. See below for full details.

“I’ve felt pulled to the East Coast for a while,” comments Joel Henderson (aka Poor Nameless Boy). “The heart of the prairies and heart of the East feels like family. The last number of years I’ve had the privilege of showcasing and touring in the UK, Europe, and Australia. Funny thing is, I think I’ve bonded with more East Coast songwriters than anything else. To say I’m excited to meet everyone is a wonderful understatement.”

Poor Nameless Boy – Regina-based singer-songwriter, Joel Henderson – upped the ante yet again with the release of Wake Up Call (Chronograph Records). Disarming in a moment, his soft, melodic delivery is born from a keen perception of the human condition. This understated authenticity is brought to life on the new record, which beautifully showcases Henderson’s personal, mellow sound; touring honestly on love, live, and our changing hearts in a busy world.

Often described as a lighter version of Noah Gunderson and Donovan Woods, with the wispy sounds of Gregory Alan Isakov, Poor Nameless Boy has touched the hearts and ears of industry and music lovers alike since the release of his last album, Bravery. The record hit #2 on the folk radio charts, and album track, River & Trees, was in CBC’s Top 50 songs for 2016. Henderson’s skilled lyrical ability earned him a spot as a semi-finalist in the 2018 Canadian Songwriting Competition, and a Global Music Award Bronze Medal.

Poor Nameless Boy has also been making quite a presence internationally as well, with music lovers in Europe, Australia, and the U.S. taking notice. Leave Myself Behind, his piano ballad duet with Saskatoon’s Denise Valle, has over 550k streams on Spotify in the GAS market, and he has had stellar appearances at Reeperbahn, Australian Music Week, The Great Escape, and more.
