TORONTO, ON – March 23, 2023 – Oshawa guitar-driven outlaw rock n’ roll band, The Standstills, released the official music video for their hit single, Motherlode, today. The track is off their 2022 smash album, Shockwave, from MNRK Music Group, and features Jesse Hughes, from legendary rock band, Eagles Of Death Metal. The video was filmed live this past fall while the band was on tour with Three Days Grace.
Directed by Scott Baker, the clip captures the energy, vitality, and power of a live Standstills performance. Special guests Hughes and Barry Stock from Three Days Grace, and newest Standstills member, Brendan McMillan on bass, are showcased throughout the video in front of an invigorated hometown crowd. “Filming Motherlode live on stage with Jesse and Barry was THE most bad ass dream come true,” said Jonny Fox, lead singer and guitarist for The Standstills. “The stage was so full of genuine icon rock and roll, for us it was like suffering a tidal wave of pure energy. And we couldn't be happier with how well the film crew caught so many great moments. It is the Motherlode of Motherlodes.”
The Standstills have also been added as special guests on Eagles of Death Metal’s European summer tour, ripping through the UK and Germany. The tour follows a spring fling in Canada with Big Wreck and Theory of a Deadman.

We’ve written songs, jammed, shot a video, and partied together,” added Hughes, leader, and founder of Eagles of Death Metal. “They are good people, and The Standstills are a great band that rock’s hard. How hard you ask? Let’s see if they can survive a European tour with EODM. I am really looking forward to this summer run.”
The Standstills (Fox on vocals/guitar, Renée Couture on drums/vocals, McMillan on bass/vocals), have built a reputation for transcendent anthem-making with an earnestly steadfast formula: gigantic hooks, unapologetically hypnotic grooves, and infectious unabashedly cool riffs, which can be heard in force on their latest release, Shockwave. Produced by Neil Sanderson from Three Days Grace and mixed by two-time GRAMMY Award-winner Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Santana, Daughtry), the album blends immediately accessible choruses with magnetic layers of depth.
