TORONTO, ON – November 3, 2023 – Bah gawd! In the most electrifying move in sports entertainment, The Halluci Nation have dropped their brand new EP, Path of the Heel - the first installment of their new project, The Road to Halluci Mania

The Halluci Nation's Bear Witness and 2oolman have always had a deep interest in Professional Wrestling ever since they were kids – loving the complex story lines that play out week after week, and seeing the underdog overcome adversity and have their chance to shine. Now, they are at a point of their career where they have never been happier with their partnership, and the music they are creating together, and wanted to take the opportunity to tell a story that is inspired by their long-shared interest in Pro Wrestling, paired with some brand new sounds.

Themed around one of the main character archetypes in professional wrestling – "The Heel" (a.k.a. the bad guy) – Path of the Heel follows a faction of this group, called the ALie Nation. The creator of the ALie Nation has gone from being curious about The Halluci Nation  the champion "Baby Face" tag team wrestlers  to becoming obsessed with taking them down at Halluci Mania, aiming to do so by recruiting two wrestlers into the ALie Nation.

The story unfolds through the album openers, Tree of Woe and ALie Nation (Interlude), both of which feature powerful vocals written and performed by Damian Abraham. The theme then expands with Eater of Worlds and Atomic Drop, featuring long-time collaborators, Northern Cree, and fulled by fast paced beats with complex basslines, all brining the Halluci Nation’s classic sound into the present and beyond.

"Damian was an incredible talent to work with in the studio and we are lucky that our friendship has developed into such a strong bond over the years," The Halluci Nation share. "This collaboration plays such an important part in the story of this project and we feel the final result pushes the limits beyond what anyone has ever heard from us."

They continue, "Being able to work with Northern Cree is always a special experience. The tones they are able to create add so much depth to Eater of Worlds and Atomic Drop. The frequencies a drum creates can’t be duplicated by any machine and they take the basslines to a whole different level."

Path of the Heel further explores the idea of cross-genre music collaborations, and sees Bear and 2oolman creating songs that push the bounds of their signature sound, touching on classic Drum & Bass sounds that are on the brink of trending in dance music again. The heartbeat of their inspiration continues to be John Trudell and his work. This new project takes The Halluci Nation on the next part of the path that John laid out for them through his poems and personal messages to the group. Their connection has allowed Bear and 2oolman to push the boundaries of their creative abilities and continue to be their authentic selves, producing sounds that show an evolution of the group into the future. This evolution has become possible because of the trust Bear and 2oolman share with each other on a personal, and professional level.

The Path of the Heel is unlike anything fans have ever heard from The Halluci Nation, and it’s just the small look into what is coming for the future! Listen here today.
