MONTREAL, QC – November 8, 2023 – Secret City Records is thrilled to announce the appointment of Magali Ould as General Manager.
 
Secret City has seen exponential growth over the past few years, expanding their team and expertly evolving alongside the ever-changing music market. With these factors in mind, the newly created General Manager role at Secret City will serve as a catalyst for the continued development of the company, by placing dedicated focus on driving and managing the label’s day-to-day operations. Ould excitedly steps into this position after serving 12+ years with the company in Marketing, Communications and Project Management roles. Within this new position, she will report directly to President & CEO, Justin West.

Ould is one of Québec’s key music-industry leaders for over 16 years. Born and raised in Montreal, she has been involved at every level of the local music scene, from handling guest-lists and packing vinyl to tracking radio and discovering new artists. Ould joined Secret City in 2011, becoming the company’s second employee. Hired as a Publicist, she went on to be named their first Director of Marketing, supervising a team and leading international campaigns for the likes of Patrick Watson, Basia Bulat, Alexandra Stréliski, and collaborating to orchestrate the U.S. late-night TV debuts of The Barr Brothers and Leif Vollebekk. Fully bilingual, Ould has played a key role in Secret City’s expansion into Francophone music, helping to sign artists such as Antoine Corriveau, Rosie Valland, Klô Pelgag and the legendary songwriter Daniel Bélanger.

MONTRÉAL, QC – 8 novembre 2023 – Secret City Records a le plaisir d’annoncer la nomination de Magali Ould comme directrice générale.
 
Secret City a connu une croissance exponentielle au cours des dernières années, ajoutant des membres à son équipe et évoluant adroitement au rythme des changements constants du marché musical. Avec ces facteurs en tête, le nouveau poste de directrice générale chez Secret City servira de catalyseur pour le développement continu de l’entreprise, en se concentrant sur l’orientation et la gestion des opérations quotidiennes de la maison de disques. Ould est ravie d’accéder à ce poste après plus de 12 ans de service au sein de l’entreprise dans des postes liés au marketing, aux communications et à la gestion de projets. Dans ce nouveau poste, elle rendra compte directement au président et PDG, Justin West.

Ould est une leader importante de l’industrie musicale québécoise depuis plus de 16 ans. Née et ayant grandi à Montréal, elle s’est impliquée à tous les niveaux de la scène musicale locale, de la gestion des listes d’invités à l’emballage de vinyles, en passant par le suivi radio et le repérage de nouveaux talents. Ould a rejoint les rangs de Secret City en 2011, devenant la deuxième employée de l’entreprise. D’abord engagée en tant que relationniste, elle a ensuite été la toute première directrice du marketing, supervisant une équipe et menant des campagnes internationales pour des artistes tels que Patrick Watson, Basia Bulat et Alexandra Stréliski, en plus de collaborer à orchestrer les premières apparitions dans des talk-shows de fin de soirée américains de The Barr Brothers et Leif Vollebekk. Parfaitement bilingue, Ould a joué un rôle clé dans l’expansion de Secret City dans le monde de la musique francophone, facilitant la signature d’ententes avec des artistes comme Antoine Corriveau, Rosie Valland, Klô Pelgag et le légendaire auteur-compositeur-interprète Daniel Bélanger.
