LISTEN HERE AND WATCH HERE

TORONTO, ON – July 7, 2023 – Montreal’s Ormiston – the solo project of Nicola Ormiston – lands today with new single, Lose Yourself, via Lisbon Lux Records. A sunny and relaxed track highlighted by 80s synth and guitar, Lose Yourself is sure to be an instant summer hit - listen here and watch here.

The song takes listeners on an indie pop, chillwave, yacht rock adventure, telling the story of a child lost in adulthood, running away from responsibility without regrets, and desperately desiring to stay youthful. "Looking for a hideaway, somewhere that you never been on your own, a changing of reality" the narrator laments.

In 2020, Ormiston signed with Canadian label, Lisbon Lux Records, and released his debut album, Hammer Down (2021). Cinematic and full of groove, the album explores love stories and failed relationships on optimistic indie-pop. The opus was well received by the public and the song, Time Fades, was also featured in Pete Davidson's latest film, Meet Cute.

With +400k streams, Ormiston relies on a light, relaxed sound with engaging indie pop rhythms. His last single, Distortion Of Reality, premiered on David Dean Burkhart Youtube channel (923k) and received media support from the likes of Exclaim! (added to The Eh! List Spotify Playlist – March 17, 2023) and Canadian Beats. Mixed by Ormiston and Peter Van Uytfank, and Mastered by Richard Adisson, Lose Yourself is the second single from the artist's forthcoming album, due for release in October.

About Ormiston:
Singer-songwriter and producer of a sunny and laidback sound, somewhere between indie pop, chillwave and yacht rock where you can find influences from Toro Y Moi, MGMT and electro-disco. Born into a bilingual Montreal family, he was raised around female musicians and grew up with a strong sense of melody. After  mixing and producing some tracks for Milk & Bone, Heartstreets, Misage and Freida Mari, he released in 2013 the song Typically Her (under the name Beverlay) that ended up being remixed by Kaytranada, helping it reach more than three million streams worldwide. In 2020, he signed with Canadian label Lisbon Lux Records. On stage, his piercing voice is supported by his three outstanding musicians. He offers a lively and touching show that irresistibly invites you to dance.
