Toronto, ON – January 10, 2020 – As Toronto Hip-Hop/Dancehall hybrid, Lexxicon, nears the launch of his forthcoming album, Bashment Trap House, on January 31, he spreads love with third single, Lucky Lucky. The song is a tribute to Lexxicon’s parents and their bond. In addition, you can catch Lexxicon perform the new tracks live with two shows in Toronto at The Baby G on January 26 and February 23, and an exclusive listening party on January 30. See below for all details, listen to Lucky Lucky here and pre-order the album now.

“The song was inspired by my parents and their 26 years of marriage and just reflects on how special it is when you find that right person for you,” Lexxicon says of the Artafacts-produced track. “Love is not something to be taken for granted because each time you find it, it's like winning the lottery. Finding a partner to appreciate you for all your flaws and strengths is the type of love I wish for everyone in the new year.”

Last month, Lexxicon shared a personal track called Lonely, sharing his experience with Crohn’s disease.

“This song is for those who have gone through times in their lives where they felt alone and that they had no support from anyone,” Lexxicon reflects. “Many of us have certain experiences where no matter who is around us we still have to go through it alone. For me, it was begin diagnosed with Crohn's disease and dealing with the hospital visits, medication changes, and multiple side effects. During that time was when I felt extremely alone and was the inspiration for this song. I just hope putting my feelings to music can help someone going through a similar situation.”

Bashment Trap House’s first single, Fatty Fatty, celebrating inclusion and body positivity. Produced by Kontrabandz, Fatty Fatty is about celebrating life, tying into the project’s overall theme around Lexxicon’s journey as a Jamaican/Canadian artist. The hook is gender-neutral, embracing an inclusive party track that everyone can vibe to. Overall, the song's message is to be confident in your body and draws elements from 90s Dancehall music with a Hip Hop backdrop.

Stay tuned for more from Lexxicon ahead of Bashment Trap House’s big drop on January 31.

About Lexxicon

Hip-Hop/Dancehall artist Lexxicon fluctuates between Dancehall Patois, R&B harmonies, and melodic rapping with pure power. Born in Jamaica, Lexxicon moved to Birmingham, England and then New York City before settling in Toronto, Canada, where he found the drive, passion, and tools to become a recording artist. He honed his talent by growing in some of the city’s talent incubators such as R.I.S.E Edutainment, and UrbanArts – B.M.M.

After taking the stage at Afro Fest, Kothu Fest, Canadian Music Week, T-Dot Fest and the Culture Shock Block Party, the experience of Lexxicon’s live performances can be described as a powerful presence. The Toronto-based artist’s up-tempo hybrid sound comes from many influences of Sean Paul to Tory Lanez. His vision is to push the boundaries of hip-hop music, by blurring genres lines and adding his Jamaican background to his music.

Lexxicon is also an active member of Toronto’s creative community, founding a rising showcase series called AfroWave Toronto, that advocates for Dancehall, Afrobeats and Reggaeton representation in the local music scene. He attended Ryerson University and founded student group called RyeSWAT (now RyeRecords) for artists on campus to record an album (The Vision – Various ArtistsGenesis EP – Various Artists) and release music.
