SHOW IN TORONTO ON NOVEMBER 8 AT VELVET UNDERGROUND

TORONTO, ON – October 21, 2022 – Today, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, Jack Kays, has released his new song, When It’s All Over, the latest offering from his forthcoming EP CESSATION. Kays wrote When It’s All Over from the perspective of an addict professing gratitude for a significant other in the early stages of sobriety and describes the track as “his first love song.” Listen here, and watch the accompanying live performance video here. 

In speaking about When It’s All Over Jack says: "When I got sober, I quickly started to see the importance of relationships. With the proper support group, you can handle a lot more than you can on your own. I wrote this song with my girlfriend in the early months of my sobriety. It’s meant to exhibit how grateful I am for her support and it is my way of saying that I want to be there for her the way that she was for me." 

Regarding CESSATION, he continues: “I've been writing this EP for the past two years. It means so many different things to me, and I could go on and on about it, but if there's one thing to take away from it, it's that in order for something to live, something else has to die. I think it’s so easy to hold on to old ideas but letting go is the best thing you can do for yourself. I learned that the hard way.”

Those years of writing proved to pay off as CESSATION came to fruition earlier this year during a transcendent two-week trip to Joshua Tree. The five-track project chronicles the lifespan of a man and his journey to sobriety starting at ages 10-17 with Wish You Well and continuing the story from age 17 to 21 with Finally Fine, followed by When It’s All Over, which encapsulates the next chapter ages 20 to 23. Releasing November 11, CESSATION is an extremely vulnerable collection of songs that shine the spotlight on Jack’s songwriting and vocal talent. In celebration of his forthcoming EP and today’s release, Jack kicks off his first-ever headline tour titled The Man with a Guitar this weekend in Phoenix, AZ. Kays will bring his captivating live performance to 18 cities across North America including Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, and more with sold out shows in Minneapolis and his hometown of Cincinnati.
