HARRISON PREVIEWS NEW ALBUM WITH FLOAT (FEATURING KADHJA BONET) AND A VIEW FROM THE SKY

FORTHCOMING ALBUM DUE THIS SPRING VIA LAST GANG RECORDS/MNRK

TORONTO, ON – February 8, 2023 – Today,  JUNO, Polaris, UK MVA + Prism Prize nominated Toronto producer and musical polymath, Harrison, shares two fresh tracks to warm up the season. He delivers Float, a shimmering song featuring Los Angeles-based artist, Kadhja Bonet, alongside a complimentary instrumental, A View From The Sky. The singles are a preview of Harrison's new album set to launch this Spring via Last Gang Records/MNRK. Both demonstrate the evolution of Harrison's sound since his 2016 JUNO-nominated album, Checkpoint Titanium, and his introspective 2018 sophomore, Apricity, with intention and inspired energy for what's ahead. Listen to Float (featuring Kadhja Bonet) and A View From The Sky here

The singles are paired with incredible visualizers by illustrator Elijah Anderson - check out Float here and A View From The Sky here. To complement Harrison's artistic vision, he enlisted Elijah, and the design and animation of Jeremy White to craft single artwork that recalls classic Blue Note covers and iconic Saturday morning cartoons like Schoolhouse Rock!.

Float is a smooth downtempo tune with a grooving R&B bassline perfect for a reflective drive. As Kadhja sings of struggling to find oneself in another's absent love through metaphors, her graceful vocals weave throughout this buoyant collaboration: "Do you wanna fill me up/ Like a cheap balloon/ That deflates when you leave the room/ I don’t wanna force it but/ When it gets a haze/ I might float myself away."

A View From The Sky highlights Harrison’s deep study of jazz and dedication to the piano, written during a moment of personal reclamation after a dark time. "This piece means a lot to me," Harrison affirms. "I just started taking Zoloft after a pretty bad stint of depression and it just started to kick in that day. I wanted to convey that feeling of carefreeness even if it was just for a moment. I’ll be proud of this joint forever."

Float and A View From The Sky follow a string of standout songs Harrison released between 2021 and  2022. Last year, Outta This World,  marked another collaborative effort with JUNO Award-winning and fellow Toronto artist, TOBi. Listen to Outta This World here, and watch the video here.  In addition, Harrison released captivating instrumental singles, Around You and Like When We Were Kids, which saw over 3 million combined global streams.

At only 27, Harrison has accomplished more than many artists twice his age, all while not being afraid to take himself too seriously. He got his start making beat tapes and putting sample-heavy songs on SoundCloud, where he quickly found a following, and a global community of likeminded producers and collaborators including Ryan Hemsworth, Star Slinger, and more. With two critically acclaimed albums to his name, 2016’s JUNO Award-nominated Checkpoint Titanium and 2018’s Apricity, his versatility has lead to him producing for some of Canada’s most boundary-pushing artists including al l i e, Daniela Andrade, DijahSB, Sean Leon, and TOBi. On top of this, he’s also composed music for video games (LOUD on Planet X) and more recently, commercials for NERF, Play-Doh, and more.

Stay tuned for more from Harrison as he continues to share his craft this year.
