“For Flostate, as long as time is on their side, they figured they can't lose. For listeners growing restless for more tunes, patience will soon be rewarded.”  – CBC Music

"..entwining captivating soundscapes with spell-binding vocal lines... the airy guitar lines and decisive percussion build a contrasting sonic support that ebbs and flows like a midnight dance between two free-spirited souls." – This Song Is Sick

"Flõstate create a mesmerizing downtempo number with Home Ground. Beginning with gentle chimes and warm piano tones, the song seduces from the get-go, as Florence's sultry and sinuous vocals enter into the mix alongside mellow beats."   Pop Matters

"Creating music building out from intimate jam sessions, Flõstate create songs which
“happen in the moments that we’re not looking." -

Toronto, ON – July 18, 2022 – Canadian fantasy R&B duo, Flõstate, continue to unravel the stories behind their debut full-length album, Moments Of Feeling. Released on May 19 via Lekker Collective, Moments Of Feeling is inspired by connecting with others, connection to self, romance, surrealism and etherealism, being in a flow state while navigating life experiences. This summer, the group has been unveiling captivating and emotive visuals that provide the perfect backdrop to tracks that encapsulate the collaborative album, which highlights themes of escapism and the return to our natural state as humans in the universe, taking you through a dream before returning to reality. Listen to Moments Of Feeling here watch the visuals here and read on to learn more about the songs.

The most recent visual captures the essence of So It Goes , a song that was recorded while sitting by a fire, “in a moment of acceptance of it all" and is an example of the group’s recording/production process within natural environments. Watch it here. The visualizer for standout track, My Heartembodies textures, images and emotions of the song evoking the song's essence of contrast within soft and gentle between hard and soft. One More Day In Love is a synth-heavy, fluid and nostalgic piece centred on gaining clarity in solitude.

Home Ground has the sense of urgency to be somewhere familiar with a fresh perspective. The feeling that you are not in the right place at that moment but you are sure you know where to go. The windchimes in the beginning of Home Ground Interlude and Home Ground were recorded in group member and vocalist, Avery Florence’s cabin one morning which turned out to be the most prominent and memorable element.

Dream Dance is the first song Flõstate ever wrote, so this is a nostalgic piece for the group. The track is about the longing for love in its purest form, which can borderline obsession. Wanting this eternal love that we all hope exists. “We only exist together” is the idea that love itself is an idea, a feeling, a fantasy. “Dream Dance is a ballad about two distant lovers. Just like how dreams can be light and warm hearted to dark and intense, we wanted this song to be a breathing journey that flows in and out of those states,” the group adds.

Time, which introduced listeners to the Canadian act in 2020, flows from the group's process of creating music from intimate jam sessions that "happen in the moments that we’re not looking.ExperienceTime through a visual of the live rooftop performance of the song here, and a music video for the original version here.

Flõstate is a fantasy R&B duo from Canada. Consisting of producer MKSTN and songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Avery Florence, two worlds collide creating multi-instrumental soundscapes and virtuous vocals. Inspired by a wide variety of artists and genres, the duo site acts such as Beach House, Galimatias, Tame Impala, Jimi Hendrix, Lana Del Rey, Bon Iver, Enya, Jeff Buckley and Pink Floyd as key influences to their sound.

Blending chill, washed-out, electronic, R&B, dream pop and psychedelic pop with meaningful lyrics, Moments Of Feeling aims to capture the depth of one's internal world as it’s influenced by the external world we each navigate. "Each song embodies it’s own world of emotion, a snapshot of a feeling we try to hold onto, grasping at its depth, only to feel it fade away into memory. The album is a reflection; inner thoughts from a non-egoistic state. The musicality and production of the album breathes a deep sense of aliveness," says group members, Avery Florence and MKSTN. "This album is an exploration of our emotional worlds. Through the lyrics and sound, our music evokes our internal world to the external, the only way to connect deeply with ourselves & those around us."

This fall, Flõstate will perform at Cloud 9 Music Festival in Rideau Lakes, Ontario. Their set is on September 10. Cloud 9 is hosted by No.9 Gardens, Canada’s First Cultural Center for Sustainability and Reconciliation, and celebrates art, food, music, and community with a dedication to a sustainable future. More tickets and info can be found here.
