As a singer-songwriter who has always been enamoured by the power of words, the LA-based (by way of Alberta, Canada) pop artist is a true multi-talented self-starter through and through. Today, she reveals the first taste of new music from her forthcoming debut album with the lead single, Burning Out. An ode to experiencing life to the fullest and aiming to avoid FOMO – even when the overwhelming feelings of life become a self-sabotaging cycle – Burning Out is sure to resonate with everyone it reaches. “I have always had a fear of missing out on life, and that fear has come with some major consequences,” reflects Laur Elle. “I wrote this song as an acceptance of those consequences. Burning Out is what it feels like to lean into the chaos instead of running away.”

Simultaneously nostalgic and freeing, Burning Out arrives ahead of Laur Elle’s debut record, with every song being written and co-produced by Laur Elle herself, alongside Father Bobby Townsend. Her musical vision is intrinsically tied to her own voice, and every song is different on the genre-fluid album. “This record is like an emotional road trip,” she explains. “It feels like letting go of the past, taking detours, and finding your destination along the way — each song is a stop on the journey.”

As a young pop artist, Laur Elle uses her music to process her own emotions. After time as an internationally competitive gymnast for the Canadian national team, she immersed herself in the creative community and has quickly proven that while poetry was her artistic starting point, music is truly her calling. With music that starts with her pen and her guitar, Laur Elle’s airy vocals, grounded lyrics and lush sound, create the perfect vehicle for escapism — a sound she calls perfect for running (or, more appropriately, driving) away from problems. Writing is her escape, and she’s ready to offer the same kind of solace for her listeners.

“This era has been a leap of faith,” she says — but if anyone can stick the landing, it’s Laur Elle.
