ALLIE X RELEASES NEW SINGLE LOVE ME WRONG FEATURING TROYE SIVAN

SONG FROM FORTHCOMING NEW ALBUM CAPE GOD

Toronto, ON – December 6, 2019 – Today, singer and songwriter, Allie X, releases her latest single, Love Me Wrong, from the forthcoming album, Cape God, featuring long-time friend and collaborator, Troye Sivan. Love Me Wrong was written by Allie X and Troye Sivan, along with Leland and Bram Inscore. Originally composed for film, the song was always immensely personal for Allie X, dealing with the confusion and hurt associated with familial love.

Allie X comments, “It is a song about being misunderstood by your family or loved ones. You know that they love you, but not for the full person you are. The relationship between a parent and child is so intense and layered, that it was liberating to put it into the simple phrase ‘you love me wrong’ and repeat it over and over in the chorus of this song”.

In the first half of this song, we hear the painfully matter-of-fact lyrics through the unique voices of each artist separately, until they join together for the final chorus where the song simultaneously soars and falls apart in climactic emotional release.

Oh I’ll never be,
How you remember me, So I’d rather be,
In your memory

The pairing of Allie X and Troye Sivan is a long-time coming and hopefully fans of both will enjoy this glorious music moment.

Allie X recently completed a tour with Marina this fall across the U.S. and Europe, and played select U.S. dates with Charli XCX. See here for more info on upcoming tour dates.
