Toronto, ON – January 24, 2019 – Wild Rivers are kicking off the new year with a new single, Moving Target. The heartachingly beautiful track, which is premiering exclusively via No Depression, with the magazine commenting on the song’s “enchanting harmonies and storytelling lyricism that bring the very heart and soul of the group to life.” The release of the single follows the start of their North American Winter tour, where the group will bring their songs to audiences across Quebec and southern Ontario. Full details can be found below.

“Moving Target is about being emotionally disconnected with someone you care about,” says the band. “It’s about what people do to protect themselves when a relationship gets difficult, and the realization that cutting yourself off does more harm than good. We recorded Moving Target live off the floor; the decision was made with our producer Dan Hosh in order to hone a sense of vulnerability and earnestness that frame the lyrics. We’ve played it night after night while on the road this year, and we wanted to recreate its liveness.”

Wild Rivers have been going non-stop since the summer release of their EP, Eighty-Eight, touring heavily in support of the new album, including a 21-date North American run with The Paper Kites. The band recently debuted stripped down studio versions of their songs, Call It A Night, and Howling, which are both featured on the EP – the highly-anticipated follow up to their 2016 self-titled debut. The band’s catalogue has over 59 million stream on Spotify alone, with the new EP already reaching over 3.9 million streams, and the band amassing over 1.4 million monthly listeners. Album track, I Wont Be Back, was also included in Rolling Stone’s 10 Best Country, Americana Songs of the Week.

Composed of Khalid Yassein (vocals, guitar), Devan Glover (vocals), Julien Laferriere (drums) and Andrew Oliver (guitar, bass), Wild Rivers has accrued more than 30 million streams on Spotify over three years, toured consistently across the U.S. and Canada, and has earned a reputation as a band that makes a powerful, lasting connection with their listeners. The Toronto-based band – coming from all different musical backgrounds – finds inspiration within the 1970s, including artists such as Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor and Neil Young, all while being able to blend their hallmark storytelling styles with contemporary approaches to melody.
