SOPHOMORE ALBUM SET FOR RELEASE FALL 2018 VIA LAST GANG RECORDS
STREAM VISUALS FOR PREVIOUS SINGLE CELICA SUPRA
Toronto, ON – September 10, 2018 – Harrison shares his new video for Atmosphere, the second single from his forthcoming full length, Apricity, due out this fall. The song features fellow Canadian, Daniela Andrade, who brings ethereal vocals to Harrison's smooth production. Justin Singer, who directed the video for the title track of Harrison’s debut album, Checkpoint Titanium, returns to produce the visuals for Atmosphere. Watch it here.
“This video was definitely an exercise in casting. I had this weird idea, but it wouldn’t have worked without our lead, Xylk. His energy was exactly what the role called for. The idea was meant to play off our weird and wonderful imaginations,” says Singer of the treatment. “Sometimes things aren’t always as they seem. There’s an energy following the character and only until he accepts it, is he able to interact with it.”
"I made the instrumental a year prior, but was unfinished. It was the first song we worked on together for this album. Daniela came up with the hook really quickly. Nothing was re-written. Probably came up with the lyrics in a half hour.
Daniela's vocals are mixed well into the track. They don’t sit up front. Fits the song perfectly." says Harrison.
Harrison's debut, Checkpoint Titanium, was released on September 9, 2016 via Last Gang Records. The JUNO-nominated album was highlighted through features in The FADER, Exclaim!, Noisey, CBC Music and Apple Music’s Beats 1. It features an array of collaborators including a l l i e (Vertigo), Ryan Hemsworth (Vanilla) and Young Guv (So Far From Home). His videos for album singles, It’s Okay I Promise (featuring Clairmont The Second), and Right Hook (directed by Eva Michon) received nods from the esteemed Prism Prize, a national juried award recognizing the artistry of the modern music video in Canada. Harrison shared the music with international audiences, performing across Canada and throughout Asia, with festival sets at Osheaga, Halifax Pop Explosion, Rifflandia, Toronto’s Field Trip and TIME Festivals, Bastid’s BBQ, and Hamilton’s Supercrawl, amongst others.
