Toronto, ON – March 14, 2019 –
Thunder Bay, ON-natives, The Honest Heart Collective, let fans take a peek into the behind-the-scenes of the band in a new mini-documentary featured on Shaw Spotlight. Encompassing personal interviews, concert footage and band practice banter, the mini-doc covers the band’s origins and their journey, with deep dives into the process behind the music.

I think that’s the main thing… writing songs that mean something to people,” says lead singer, Ryan MacDonald, in the documentary. “If that’s what I get remembered for, or what we get remembered for, I would think that we would all be okay with that.”

Following the release of their sophomore album, Grief Rights, The Honest Heart Collective toured Canada extensively throughout 2018 and show no signs of stopping. They’ve announced a string of Ontario tour dates including a show at JUNOfest on March 15th. March dates include stops in Toronto, Kingston and Ottawa. See below for details.

Grief Rights, which was released in May 2018, showcases their anthemic rock style with powerful lyrics, and the single, North American Dream, featured on Spotify’s Rock Your Block and Rock Favourites playlists and is currently at over 92k streams. Check out the music video for the track here.

Anchored by four lifelong friends, The Honest Heart Collective was born from brothers Ryan and Nic MacDonald, a moment at a Springsteen concert, and a rotating cast of musicians made permanent. Buoyed by the backdrop of their Northern Ontario roots, the band embodies an old soul take of heart-on-sleeves storytelling through music. Armed with the self built Lionheart Studios, a blue collar mentality, and four lifelong friends, The Honest Heart Collective recorded their LP, Grief Rights, with producers Derek Hoffman (The Trews, Silverstein) and Jay Ruston (Stone Sour, Anthrax).

Stay tuned for more from The Honest Heart Collective throughout 2019!
