"Come On Out is a sturdy, unimpeachable song about suburban ennui, a runaway kid and domestic violence that feels designed for arena-sized singalongs and big ticket headlining slots." – Los Angeles Times

"Jollett engagingly narrates his story...result[ing] in a shocking but contemplative memoir" – Publishers Weekly, The Most Anticipated Books of Spring 2020 (5 out of 5 stars)

The frontman of rock band Airborne Toxic Event chronicles, in gorgeous and exacting lyricism, his harrowing coming-of-age within (and eventual escape from) the Church of Synanon, a violent religious cult." – O Oprah Magazine The 30 Most Anticipated Books of 2020 (So Far)

"Jollett was raised from childhood in a cult, brought up under the leaders of Synanon. With stunning clarity, he tells of his mother's escapes and the subsequent trials his family endured." – Newsweek 40 Must-Read Fiction And Nonfiction Books To Savor This Spring

"This moving and profound memoir is for anyone who loves a good redemption story." – Good Morning America, 20 Books We're Excited for in 2020

Toronto, ON – April 14, 2020 – The Airborne Toxic Event has announced today the release of the title track from their sixth, eagerly-anticipated album, Hollywood Park. The track is available now at all DSPs and streaming services. The Los Angeles-based band’s sixth LP, and first new music in half a decade, Hollywood Park, arrives May 22 via Rounder Records; pre-orders are available now here.

Hollywood Park arrives alongside a new literary work of the same name by Mikel Jollett, to be published by Celadon Books, a division of MacMillan, which is now coming out on May 26. Hollywood Park: A Memoir sees Jollett chronicling his extraordinary personal journey; from his early childhood in one of the most infamous cults of the 1970s, through a childhood of poverty and emotional abuse, before finding his voice as an artist among the confusion of an adult life spent nursing the wounds of childhood, and the redemption which came from looking inward and an acceptance of self and the fierce love of family.

The change in release dates for both book and album are due to the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, the book is one of the last printed at the plant before it had to be shut down.

Jollett’s upcoming book tour will move online, taking place on the exact same dates and times as originally planned (see dates below). On the tour dates, Jollett will do a reading, a talk, performance and a question and answer session. More information can be found here.
