ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM GOOD COMPANY

Toronto, ON – September 24, 2021 – Nomadic indie-folk road warrior musician, Tennyson King, today releases his new single, Slow Down. The catchy and upbeat acoustic driving track serves as a reminder to do as its title suggests, especially with the current state of the world and how we’re treating our planet. Hailing from Hong Kong and Canada, Tennyson interacts, learns, and escapes within nature as much as he can, especially being on the road as much as he is, and this song was written about doing just that. Listen to Slow Down here and watch the visualizer here.

I started writing this song when I got back from tour back in March 2020,” remembers Tennyson. “The past year was a bit intense as I had toured in Hong Kong during democratic protests, then went to Australia to tour during some of their biggest fires in a long time, then went into Vietnam for shows just as COVID was becoming prevalent in Asia.”

“It just seemed like everyone was looking for answers but there weren’t any, people seemed angry at the wrong things, and there was just a lot of hate and not a lot of peace and love… I realized that there is nothing I could say to make anyone feel better or much I could do. I felt that all we can really do, is slow down our pace of life, listen to each other, be there for each other, try to enjoy the small things, and do the small things to be kind to each other.”

And that’s easiest to do, with good people around… and in other words, Good Company, which also happens to be the title of Tennyson’s upcoming album due out early 2022.

The album will feature the previously released water focused and elemental track, Life On Shore (Carry Me Away), which also comes from a state of interconnectedness with nature. Watch the lyric video here. The song has also been featured in a deep sea scuba diving collaboration with Kolin Hansen, figure skating collaboration with Kimberly Moon-Chong, and landed on several playlists including: The Eh! List from Exclaim!, Coastal Folk, INDIE SUMMER SURF, and Chill mind.

On the earthy-elemental Slow Down, Tennyson adds: “When we all live too fast, when there is so much chaos happening in the world, too much hate and not enough love. Sometimes we just need to slow everything down and be in the moment.”

Stay tuned for more from Tennyson King and the Good Company journey, as it unfolds this year.
