Toronto, ON – May 7, 2020 – JUNO Award-winning children’s music super-duo, Splash’N Boots, continue to make a BIG splash for families during these unprecedented times. The duo created The Big Heart Morning Show – a live, interactive show, featuring dress-up, singing, dancing, ‘big heart’ awards for children doing amazing things during this time, and more. Now, Splash’N Boots are thrilled to announce the launch of The Big Heart Journey’s Coronavirus Toolkit, which includes a collection of dynamic meditations and ‘Heart Hugs’ designed to help children and their families navigate this incredibly uncertain (and sometimes scary) time of life. The Big Heart Journey’s Coronavirus Toolkit is available now on the official Big Heart Journey website, Instagram @bigheartjourney, and YouTube.

“Our world has been turned upside down. Children have been forced to adapt to an unprecedented new space, where outside support from school, friends and extended family is no longer available,” says Taes Leavitt (Boots). “This is the most important time for us, as artists and performers, to unite and provide emotional support that every child and family so desperately needs. This is a time, when every child needs somewhere to go to feel safe, to feel loved and to just know that they are going to be ok. We want to provide that place.”

To minimize the effect of the pandemic on the mental health of children, it is crucial they learn tools and strategies to help them cope. The Big Heart Journey’s Coronavirus Toolkit gives children and families access to ‘Heart Hugs’, which are not your typical lie-on-the-floor meditations; they are mindfulness moments for children that are dynamic, fun and empowering. Showing children that they have everything they will ever need inside of them, the ‘Heart Hugs’ in this toolkit will leave kids feeling stronger and prepared to take on anything, while helping them feel safe and loved no matter what. Since parents have been working double-time these days, and with Mother’s Day right around the corner, there will also be a special meditation just for moms, to help provide a moment of calm in their days.

The Coronavirus Toolkit will help children and their caregivers deal with topics such as: missing the people you love, connecting when you are physically apart, managing uncertainty and anxiety, and much more.

In addition to The Big Heart Morning Show, and The Big Heart Journey’s Coronavirus Toolkit, Leavitt will also bring the toolkit and ‘Heart Hugs’ to life with a weekly intimate live-stream show, called The Big Heart Journey, which aims to engage and empower children by helping them navigate all of their feelings, big and small. Every Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. ET, the show will teach mindfulness and working through emotions using dance, music and art. Leavitt has joined forces with Autism Canada to incorporate ‘Heart Hugs’ as part of a healthy bedtime routine in a time of great uncertainty for children. The weekly program can be livestreamed at Splash’N Boots’ Facebook, and on the Big Heart Journey YouTube Channel.
