RHYE ANNOUNCES BLOOD REMIXED ALBUM SET FOR RELEASE ON NOVEMBER 16

STREAM RY X’S REMIX OF WASTE

FALL US AND ASIA TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED

BLOOD OUT NOW

Toronto, ON — October 19, 2018 — Today, Rhye announces the Blood Remixed album (due November 16th via Last Gang Records) and shares RY X's remix of Waste. Watch a video of the remix via High Snobriety. The 14-track album includes additional re-imaginations by Washed Out, Tensnake, Channel Tres, and more. Mike Milosh's resilient yet purposefully understated take on R&B stretches beyond the confines of any genre with the remixes, giving listeners the opportunity to hear Blood from a new perspective.

Streaming today are RY X, Moon Boots, and Mano Le Tough's remixes. RY X's (who recently announced his forthcoming new album Unfurl) rework of Waste opens with haunting synths and creates a house atmosphere through subtle swells and syncopated rhythms. New York City's Moon Boots opts to add a bit of his future disco sound to his take on Taste, giving the song an all-night club vibe. Underground favourite Mano Le Tough's remix of Taste is the most experimental of the three, chopping Rhye's smooth vocals and disseminating them across propulsive beats and discordant pockets of synth stabs.

Rhye's sophomore album, Blood, was released earlier this year to immense praise, with The Guardian calling it a "perfectly judged sepulchral take on R&B" and NME proclaimed to be a "triumph." Blood sees the rebirth of Rhye and Milosh coming into himself fully-formed while staying true to what NPR says is the "reserved, understated and brilliant soul" of the project. Noisey called it “an album to dance to…and one to bring close to your heart, to your perceptions and subjections.” Exclaim! called it “mood music” in their February 2018 issue where Rhye was featured as their cover story

Two weeks ago, Rhye shared the visual to Blood album track, Hymn. Co-directed and produced by Rhye’s Michael Milosh, and frequent creative partner, Genevieve Medow Jenkins, a nameless woman walks amongst rocky coves and mountainous cliffs of Big Sur and its neighbouring tranquil forest and waterfalls. The Hymn visual echoes the cinematic feeling of the song and provides visceral atmosphere to the Milosh's hauntingly ethereal voice. Watch it here.

Rhye is on tour now with dates on the West Coast and in Asia. See below for a complete list of dates.

About Rhye:
A mosaic of emotive piano keys, physical percussion, buzzing analog synths, and expansive vocals, Rhye find humanity in musicality. Driven by this approach, the group quietly transformed into a phenomenon with the arrival of their 2013 debut, Woman. The record garnered acclaim from Rolling Stone, Spin, and Pitchfork who dubbed it Best New Album. Open would concurrently accumulate over 44.5 million Spotify streams, while The Fall surpassed 24.7 million. Along the way, they sold out theatres around the globe between standout festival sets at Coachella, Pitchfork, and a highlight concert in Denmark accompanied by a 49-piece all-girls choir. As the band began writing in 2016, this expansive live show indelibly impacted their second full-length album in 2017. The first single, Please, siphons a gorgeous vocal plea through a kaleidoscope of sparse percussion and piano that’s simultaneously stirring, stark, and sensual. It’s a new musical experience. It’s Rhye.
