RENO MCCARTHY RELEASES NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO FOR A MOMENT

TORONTO, ON – September 27, 2021 – Last Friday, Montreal indie-pop musician, Reno McCarthy, released the latest single, For a Moment, off his forthcoming album, Run Up River out October 29 (Balustrade). The explosive alt-pop track comes with plenty of heavy bass and crunchy synths. Listen to the song here (produced by Jesse Mac Cormack, Arthur Bourdon-Durocher and Reno) and out today, watch the frenetic, fast-paced and cinematic music video here. Reno also announces a Montreal album release show on November 2 at Le Ministère, with more tour dates to come soon. Keep up to date with Reno and get your tickets here. Pre-order Run Up River here.

On the song, Reno says: “It features extensive experimentation with noise, tape echoes and spring reverbs. The result is a highly-processed yet really raw and exciting recording. With lyrics dealing with hesitation and decisiveness, it’s a true push-and-pull. For a Moment captures the longing to embrace oneself and offers a uniquely liberating listening experience.”

The accompanying For a Moment music video pays homage to Montreal’s industrial and brutalist past, as Reno wanders aimlessly in a concrete prison, alone. The fast paced, frenetic and at times psychedelic video is sprinkled with blurry and distorted party scenes, highlighting the singer’s discomfort and claustrophobia. For a Moment ends with Reno driving away on an empty country road in an endless field, capturing the song’s sense of freedom.

Run Up River, out October 29, will include previously released tracks Nightout and Sundown. Check out the artwork below and the album teaser here.

Stay tuned for more from Reno McCarthy in the coming weeks.

About Reno McCarthy:
With the youthful sparkle of his 2019 debut album, Counterglow, Montreal alternative pop artist Reno McCarthy quickly gained recognition for his strong song writing and somewhat debonair quality as well as his band’s groove-heavy live shows.

Unexpected events led McCarthy to a surprising stopover in 2020. Following the loss of his father, the artist recorded a truly warm and personal EP. Moving, raw and of great profoundness, Angels Watching Us Dance, saw the artist at his most stripped-down and strikingly sensitive.
