“Another graceful set from the P.E.I. singer-songwriter, with more of the electro-pop sheen courtesy of producer Daniel Ledwell. Beck’s rich, haunting vocals always deliver an emotional punch, something ethereal and uplifting and a tiny bit mystical. The songs range from empowering to romantic, with gorgeous, piano-based melodies.” – Bob Mersereau, Top 100 Canadian

Toronto, ON – June 12, 2020 – Today, Canadian songwriter, Rachel Beck, releases her anticipated sophomore album, Stronger Than You Know. A celebration of strength and resilience, the record is a gentle call to action to stand up, to speak out, to be present and to love fiercely. Have a look at the live performance video of new single, Dancin’, here, and join Rachel Beck as she celebrates the release of the album tonight with a Facebook Live listening party, including special guests and a video premiere (7:00pm ADT / 6:00pm EDT).

Produced by Daniel Ledwell at Echo Lake in Nova Scotia, Stronger Than You Know is sonically decorated amidst compelling electronic rhythms and dreamy synth layers. Beck’s vocals float across the vivid, harmony-laden, ethereal soundscape for which she has become known.

“We are now living in a different world than we were when I wrote these songs and captured these sonic vibrations, these soul vibrations,” says Beck. “It has been a challenging year, yet all around me I see people stepping into their power, finding their voices, and discovering their strength.

Stronger Than You Know explores the strength it takes to be a woman, a partner, a parent, a protector of the earth. There is a deliberate absence of retrospection: the songs live in the present and look to the future with optimism, gentleness, and love.”

Stronger Than You Know follows Beck’s self-titled debut, which garnered multiple award nominations and wins, including a SOCAN #1 Award for lead single Reckless Heart after it topped the CBC Music Top 20 Chart. In 2019, Beck took home two Music PEI Awards (Pop Recording of the Year, New Artist of the Year) and earned two ECMA nominations (Pop Recording of the Year, Rising Star Recording of the Year). Tour highlights include performing for Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, appearing twice at the legendary Stan Rogers Folk Festival, opening the 2019 ECMA Gala Awards Show, and playing beautiful festivals and stages across Canada, from the Rogue Folk Club in Vancouver to the Imperial Theatre in Saint John.
