This shines through on his brand new single, Catch Up And Slow Down – a song that reflects on the importance of human connection in a world that often seems too fast-paced to allow for such moments. “‘How have you been?’ I ask. ‘Good. Busy’ is the answer I receive most often,” reflects Henderson. “In my heart of hearts, I want time to move slower, especially in true moments of connection. Drinking coffee with best friends. Nurturing a long-distance relationship. Slow down the busyness. Find time to truly connect with those most important to you. Sometimes that person might even be someone you see every day. The simplest lyric from Catch Up And Slow Down sums it up best; Give your heart to me. It’s been too long.”
Often described as a lighter version of Noah Gunderson and Donovan Woods, with the wispy sounds of Gregory Alan Isakov, Poor Nameless Boy has touched the hearts and ears of industry and music lovers alike since the release of his latest album, Bravery. The record hit #2 on the folk radio charts, and album track, River & Trees, was in CBC’s Top 50 songs for 2016. Henderson’s skilled lyrical ability earned him a spot as a semi-finalist in the 2018 Canadian Songwriting Competition, and a Global Music Award Bronze Medal.
The Regina-based artist has also been making quite a presence internationally, with music lovers in Europe, Australia, and the U.S. taking notice. Leave Myself Behind, his piano ballad duet with Saskatoon’s Denise Valle, has over 500k streams on Spotify in the GAS market, and he has had stellar appearances at Reeperbahn, Australian Music Week, The Great Escape, and more.
