Toronto, ON – April 19, 2021 – Rising from a year of pivoting and postponement, Toronto-based Polaris-nominated DJ and Producer, Paul Chin, continues to blaze his path with resilience and hope through Full Spectrum Deluxe, a special take on his 2020 EP, Full Spectrum. The release sees Paul forging original versions of the album into remixes as deftly and malleably as a film score. In addition, Paul is celebrating the launch with a crowdfunding campaign on Bandcamp to bring the project to life on vinyl. Full Spectrum Deluxe includes two new versions of the lead single, Take It Or Leave It (feat.  Desirée Dawson), remixed by himself and Canadian beat scene progenitor, Elaquent, and VIP Mixes merging the songs Helios with Hard Times (featuring Rebekah Hawker) and Slow Wine (featuring pHoenix Pagliacci) with Take Two (featuring Shad), bonding with the project’s original guests. 

Tonight, Paul will be hosting an online, interactive listening party alongside the artists from Full Spectrum at 6:00 p.m. EST on Twitch, to dive further into the music and share stories behind the creative process. Tune in here.

Full Spectrum arrived in March 2020. The title is a reflection of its encompassing works as it landed as Paul’s first release in five years following his 2015 album, Dancing Drums, and a whirlwind of life-changing events: his first vinyl release on a label, and an immigration status in Canada lapsing, forcing him to leave the country to return to his birthplace of Cayman Islands for nine months until returning to get married.  Sonic elements draw from Paul’s many influences, including anime scores, dancehall, orchestral soul, hip-hop, and electronica. Listen to Full Spectrum here, and watch its accompanying livestream, Full Spectrum Suite.

The album combines music created during what Paul quips “independent study” and a product of thoughtful collaborations with an array of artists: esteemed lyricist, Shad,  appears on Take Two (a major accolade to note amongst many: Paul produced the song, Peace/War, from Shad’s Polaris-nominated album, A Short Story About A War), in addition to rising Toronto songstress and ½ of TRP.P, pHoenix Pagliacci (Slow Wine)  Toronto country/folk artist Rebekah Hawker (Hard Times) and CBC Searchlight winner, Desirée Dawson on Take It Or Leave It.  It was entirely produced by Paul, and mixed + mastered by Toronto’s Freeza Chin (The Weeknd, Wiley, Boi-1da and Tre Mission). 

Paul applies his talents as a graphic designer and visual artist to all of his musical endeavours, creating all visuals and artwork, including a limited-edition Full Spectrum t-shirt, and more merch – all available via his webstore.
