AND EXCLAIM.CA

BAND TO PERFORM IN TORONTO ON JUNE 14th
WITH THE REVIVALISTS

“…an unabashedly '80s-esque synth-pop jam with a chorus that's begging for listeners to get up and dance.” – Exclaim.ca

Toronto, ON – May 15, 2017 – Only Yours is excited to share their next new track with listeners – Waiting. The song had its broadcast premiere last Sunday exclusively with The Strombo Show, and saw its online premiere that week on Exclaim.ca. The track was also featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday, New Music Now, Indie All Stars, and on the band’s own curated Summer Playlist. Waiting is available everywhere including on Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play. The group will return to the Toronto stage on June 14th – after sold out headline shows at Silver Dollar, The Baby G, and The Drake – where they will perform at The Opera House with The Revivalists.

Waiting follows up the band’s lead single, Living For The Moment, which Indie Current dubbed “indie-pop perfection” and the band's debut single, Different, which hit over 100K Spotify streams in its first 2 weeks and was included on various playlists such as Trending Now, Hipster Radio, Indie All Stars Discover Weekly, Release Radar, Indie Radar, and more.

The Toronto-based indie-pop outfit, led by songwriter, Lowell Sostomi, was originally conceived as an avenue for Sostomi and Kyle Watt to explore their interest in more experimental electronic music following the dissolution of an earlier project, but over time was reshaped as Sostomi’s songwriting instinct came to the fore. As the band evolved, Sostomi and Watt recruited bassist, Devon Henderson, and drummer, Shaun Hogan, to forge a sound at once anthemic and introspective – informed by an attention to textural detail born from their early experimentations, but rooted in Sostomi's traditional songwriting sensibilities without being too tightly tethered to the past. The group effortlessly combines anthemic, melodic choruses with clean, crisp studio tones, late 70s production values and hard-hitting rhythm sections. Their self-titled EP was released on October 14, 2016 (via Pirates Blend).

“At the pinnacle of the 80s pop music Renaissance, Only Yours have taken a page out of the books of the greats like as Tears for Tears and Gary Jules. ‘Different’, aptly put, is a refreshing take on the synth-lead pop genre.”Indie88

“’Edge of my Dreams’ offers us a deeper dive into the sound of this relatively new band: vintage synths and flowing keys — textures that enrich lead singer Lowell Sostomi's voice, making the track come together really well.”CBC

"’Different’ is all hooks, a bold chorus, and a glistening verse that arrives with a bittersweet flair...it's an oft replicated mixture, but one rarely completed with such applomb, as with this rising Canadian quartet.”Clash
