MOONCHILD RELEASES NEW SINGLE GET TO KNOW IT
WRAPS UP THE HIVE MIND TOUR WITH THE INTERNET
TOUR DATES IN MONTREAL AND TORONTO THIS WEEKEND
Toronto, ON – December 7, 2018 – Alternative R&B band, Moonchild, is very excited to release their new single, Get To Know It, today. Known for their spaced-out, Soulquarians-inspired grooves and the wispy, at-ease vocals of Amber Navran (also a saxophonist and flutist), with fellow multi-instrumentalists, Max Bryk (keyboards, saxophone, and clarinet) and Andris Mattson (keyboards, trumpet, synth bass), the trio wrote and produced the single. Get To Know It is a laid-back track that will mesmerize the listener. Moonchild is currently in the studio working on a new project as well as preparing for new performance dates in 2019.
"The Song is about uncertainty and how you have to get comfortable with it in life. The future will always be uncertain, the faster we learn to love the feeling the easier we can rise,” states the LA-based band. “Thinking of uncertainty as a friend instead of running from it or waiting for it to go away to step forward. Jumping into the feeling. Getting to know it."
The band formed in 2011 at USC, and has steadily grown within the scene ever since. They’ve made waves with songs like Cure and The List, and the discography has garnered them accolades from the likes of Quest Love, Rapsody, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and PJ Morton along with several interviews and mentions from press including NPR Music, that added their Voyager album in the Five R&B Albums You Slept On In 2017.
In addition, Moonchild is wrapping up a national tour with The Internet (on The Hive Mind Tour) , which crisscrossed the country, selling out venues in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle, and Austin among others.

Moonchild is a Los Angeles-based trio that met at the University of Southern California and debuted the year of their formation with the self-released Be Free (2012). Moonchild subsequently joined the roster of the independent U.K. label Tru Thoughts, where they continued to refine their sound with Please Rewind(2015) and Voyager (2017), the latter of which added harp and other stringed instrumentation to their blissed-out compositions. They've opened for the likes of Stevie Wonder, toured with The Internet, Kamasi Washington, and many others, and, true to their genre-crossing appeal, have been featured together on recordings by artists such as mid-Atlantic rapper Rapsody (Nobody, Jesus Coming) and hip-hop producer Tall Black Guy (I Will Never Know). Their output has been sampled, as heard on Mac Miller's Two Matches. Outside Moonchild, Navran, Bryk, and Mattson have worked as both solo artists and collaborators.
