Toronto, ON – January 17, 2020– Today Marcus King released his debut solo album, El Dorado, produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, via Fantasy Records.

The album is his most critically acclaimed yet, with support from Rolling Stone Magazine who featured him on the cover of The Mix in their latest issue, alongside praise from NPR Music, The New York Times, No Depression, Associated Press, Flood and American Songwriter. Paste Magazine stated, “King’s exceptional voice is the main attraction.” Vulture described King as bending “genres to his vocals, which possess a soulful grit, not unlike freshly greased tires on a dirt road” and Entertainment Weekly described King as radiating “swagger and soul.”

Marcus is set to make his debut on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! this Tuesday, January 21, performing The Well, the album’s quickly rising first single.

El Dorado, a contemporary exploration of southern R&B, country-soul, classic rock and blues, has established the 23-year-old guitar phenom as one of the most soulful voices of his generation. King’s arresting vocals feature as lead instrument, taking centre stage alongside a genre bending blend of subtle acoustics, bright pedal steel, raucous electric guitars and blistering solos. Read Marcus’ in-depth chat with Exclaim! here.

King will perform two sets in Nashville today, celebrating the album’s release. An intimate performance at Grimey’s New & Preloved Music record store (6 pm), followed by a free show at local favorite Dee’s Country and Cocktail Lounge (10 pm). More info can be found here.

Following the release, King will continue his winter and spring world tour with his band, The Marcus King Band followed by a string of dates with Chris Stapleton. See full dates below.
