As the world continues to change, Lexxicon has always found solace in the music. This is the world he aims tand hip-hop with a deep study around pop music to create his signature form of Afro Pop. An ever-innovative champion of community work and inclusion (Lexxicon is the Director of AfroWaveTO, a Toronto based community creating a new wave of culture globally), he adds a deep study of pop music’s structure and ideas, to amplify and highlight Black voices in pop, proving they don’t need to be put into a specific box in the industry, and making space for these voices to thrive. Tropicon Islands is a fight to feel free, freedom from judgment, expectations and being able to love who you want on your own terms.

Last year, nothing stopped Lexxicon from blazing his path, releasing two smash hit EPs. Tropical R&B was released on August 14, 2020, followed Lexxicon’s acclaimed Bashment Trap House, released on January 31, 2020. With Tropical R&B, Lexxicon set out to create an R&B record that infuses his dancehall roots. Themes highlight the desire to escape reality, the world, and negative feelings. The futuristic cover art seen above reflects this as it is an image of a gateway to another world.
