Toronto, ON – November 5, 2020 – Today, Atlanta rapper, Kenny Mason, shares the visual to Exxon from his breakthrough, debut album, released earlier this year, Angelic Hoodrat. Watch here.
Directed by Nasser Boulaich and shot in Atlanta, the visual continues to showcase Kenny’s ability to match emotive and cinematic visuals with his vivid storytelling displayed in his lyrics. Continuing on the themes in the HIT and Angelic Hoodrat videos, Kenny shows that crucial decisions that we make may have more significant consequences for others. He also plays on the idea that based on your time and place, one turn of events can jeopardize the future and have impact for the long haul. Kenny aims to show the relatability and shed light to what individuals and their families experience the aftermath of incarceration.
This is the sixth visual to be released from the outstanding debut Angelic Hoodrat following Angels Calling, Firestarter, Hit, Angelic Hoodrat, and a joint video for Chevron/PTSD.
Kenny Mason is paving the way for a new sound in Atlanta by redefining the city’s sound and stepping away from the trap rap that the city is known for. Sonically, his influences span hip-hop to alt-rock and Angelic Hoodrat brings all these elements to the forefront establishing his distinct vision as an artist. In 2019 alone he performed at Rolling Loud Miami, was named one of August's Best New Artists by Pigeons & Planes, and had his song, G.O.A.T., featured on HBO's hit show Euphoria and was recently selected by Complex as one of their 25 Rappers to Watch in 2020.
