Toronto, ON – June 26, 2017 – Celebrate this Canada Day on Parliament Hill with Kelly Bado! The bilingual singer-songwriter will hit the Parliament Hill Stage at 8:30pm to celebrate Canada’s 150th along with Alessia Cara, Serena Ryder, Walk Off The Earth, and others, and will perform a medley with Kinnie Starr and Jean Cormier.

Kelly Bado takes listeners on a beautiful journey with her songs. Discovering her musical and artistic passions at a young age, Kelly performed in local choirs in her native Côte d'Ivoire.  In 2007, Kelly ventured to Canada, where her love of music continued to flourish.

In early 2016, Kelly was one of three artists chosen by Manitoba Music to journey to Los Angeles to showcase for a selected group of music industry heavyweights.  LA-based Canadians, singer-songwriter producer, Andy Stochansky, and entertainment lawyer, Lisa Whynot, fell immediately in love with Kelly’s soulful voice and invited her to spend an afternoon in the studio with Stochansky and fellow LA-based Canadian, Grammy award winning songwriter-producer, Brian West.  The four have spent the last year developing Kelly’s unique talent and writing and recording songs for a new project, while Kelly continues to promote her French language EP, Entre Deux – a French and Spanish-language album with a mixture of sweetness and rhythm.

The EP has led to nominations for two awards at the 2017 Breakout West Awards: Francophone Artist of the Year and World Music Artist of the Year. Kelly will also be performing at the Awards’ Kick Off Concert on September 14th at the Myer Horowitz Theatre.  With lyrics inspired by love, hope and social equality, and a sound that marries pop with R&B/Soul, one cannot help but get swept away into Kelly’s magical voice!
