JULIEN MANAUD UNVEILS NEW SINGLE SAVE ME FROM MYSELF
TRACK IS AN INTIMATE AND STRIPPED-DOWN INTERPRETATION OF THE RADIANT BABY ORIGINAL
APPEARS ON NEW EP TO BE RELEASED IN 2021
Toronto, ON – November 10, 2020 – Today, French-Canadian multitalented-musician, Julien Manaud, releases new single, Save Me From Myself. The song is the first to be heard of Manaud’s forthcoming EP, Adaptation Vol. 2, which is set to drop in the new year via Lisbon Lux Records. Adaptation Vol. 2 follows the 2019 release of Adaptation Vol. 1, and again showcases Manaud performing covers of Lisbon Lux’s own catalogue of tracks from varied artists. Putting his own piano and vocal spin on Save Me From Myself – originally an upbeat, dance, pop tune by Radiant Baby – Manaud gives the song an intimate and timeless transformation. "This track struck me with its dichotomy – an 80s dance sound that accompanies this desperate message, ‘Save Me From Myself’, which works perfectly with the chosen chord line, filled with great melancholy,” Manaud reflects from when he first heard the Radiant Baby demo.
Manaud defines himself as a music cinematographer – both composer and musician, performer and also sound engineer, producer, editor, and manager. He has worn several hats in this industry since the start of his career. Manaud became known in Quebec in 2007 as the guitarist for the band Chinatown. He then pursued a career as a composer for commercials, video games and TV shows, for a few years, but quickly realized that he missed album releases and performing at festivals. In 2013, he produced Voyage Love, Le Couleur’s first EP, and founded Lisbon Lux Records to market the album, while creating a different kind of lable with a precise artistic direction.
Seven years later, Manaud has had a big role in the development of the careers of Quebec artists such as Le Couleur, Das Mörtal, Paupière and Bronswick, all of which resonate in Quebec but also abroad, laying down the groundwork for international exports; the hallmark of Lisbon Lux Records.
