Toronto, ON – February 7, 2020 – Jenn Grant has been trickling out new music over the past few months, following her latest release Love, Inevitable. She extended the summer season into September with a stunning rendition of Don Henley’s classic, Boys Of Summer, followed by The Party – an “alt-holiday” song released in December, and ode to lonely people joining the party again. Today, Jenn shares a third track – Happy Birthday, Babya song that reflects on the experiences and emotions around becoming a parent.

“I found childbirth and postpartum to be such an intense, overwhelming but also beautiful and sacred experience,” Jenn reflects. “It can be like all your worst fears and biggest dreams of life coming true at the same time. This song is about those moments before my son was born, and thereafter.”

Happy Birthday, Baby, along with the previously released tracks and a beautiful acoustic rendition of Love, Inevitable’s single, Raven, will be released as the Reimagine EP, which will drop digitally on February 21st and be available in limited edition physical copies at Jenn’s upcoming concerts in Halifax, Montreal and Ottawa (tour date details can be found below).

Jenn continues, “I wanted to include some songs on this Reimagine EP to go with Love, Inevitable. It's been such an all-encompassing experience around that record and the touring of it, that I felt a few more songs needed to be added to the mix. These were recorded around Nashville and at Echo Lake Recordings in Nova Scotia – kind of on a whim. I also wanted to extend the life of this beautiful album, by attaching something new to it, like a true EP can do.

Love, Inevitable, was released in June 2019 and is a marker for a period of change in Jenn’s life; of moving through one moment and leaving it behind, almost carefree, for another.  After making four consecutive albums with her husband, Daniel Ledwell (and being nominated for three JUNO Awards), Jenn stepped out of her usual comfort zone and reached out to Grammy nominated American producer and engineer, Tucker Martine. A synergetic and collaborative team was born, spending the bulk of the summer months recording in Portland, Oregon. Jenn celebrated the release with a cross-Canada tour, enthralling audiences across the country with the new heartfelt songs, and has now earned four 2020 East Coast Music Award nominations for the album: Folk Recording of the Year, Solo Recording of the Year, Fans’ Choice Entertainer of the Year, and Fans’ Choice Video of the Year for Keep A Light On.

“Grant's gorgeous voice swoops and soars across shimmering pop anthems, folk gems, and sunset ballads.” – CBC Music
