FOR VALENTINES DAY 2020 CONCERT
AT REBECCA COHN AUDITORIUM

SHARES STUNNING RENDITION OF BOYS OF SUMMER

NOMINATED FOR FIVE MUSIC NOVA SCOTIA AWARDS INCLUDING ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR

Toronto, ON – September 20, 2019 – East Coast songstress, Jenn Grant, released her gorgeous new album, Love, Inevitable, in June, and today she is excited to announce that she will be bringing the love home to Halifax with a special Valentine’s Day 2020 concert at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium. Tickets for the performance go on sale next Friday (September 27).

“I’m so thrilled to bring Love, Inevitable to the Rebecca Cohen for this special Valentine’s hometown show,” Grant exclaims. “Since recording this album I’ve become a mother, and since releasing this record I’ve been touring it slowly all over the map. It means so much to me to bring it home to you in this city that I love so much.”

While the concert announcement turns thoughts to the winter months, Grant keeps us warm with the release of a stunning rendition of Don Henley’s classic single, Boys Of Summer. Have a listen to the song here.

“When I started playing guitar when I was a kid, I just naturally gravitated towards making up my own songs rather than learning other people’s songs,” reflects Grant. “But it’s something I’ve always wanted to be better at, so here is the first cover song I’ve learned lately; it’s a beautiful one by Don Henley and it marks the end of a season, a new one beginning and sometimes the emotions that hangs in the air. This is my attempt at an interpretation of Boys Of Summer by Don Henley.”

Love, Inevitable is a marker for a period of change in Grant’s life; of moving through one moment and leaving it behind, almost carefree, for another.  After making four consecutive albums with her husband, Daniel Ledwell (and being nominated for three JUNO Awards), Grant stepped out of her usual comfort zone and reached out to Grammy nominated American producer and engineer, Tucker Martine. A synergetic and collaborative team was born, spending the bulk of the summer months recording in Portland, Oregon. Grant celebrated the release with a cross-Canada tour, enthralling audiences across the country with the new heartfelt songs, and went on to earn five Music Nova Scotia award nominations – Entertainer of the Year, Digital Artist of the Year, Folk Recording of the Year, Solo Recording of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year for Keep A Light On.

“Grant's gorgeous voice swoops and soars across shimmering pop anthems, folk gems, and sunset ballads.” – CBC Music
