HOMETOWN HALIFAX SHOW ON VALENTINE’S DAY

NOMINATED FOR CONTEMPORARY SINGER OF THE YEAR,
SOLO ARTIST OF THE YEAR AND CONTEMPORARY ALBUM OF THE YEAR AT THE 2020 CANADIAN FOLK MUSIC AWARDS

Toronto, ON – December 13, 2019 – Jenn Grant will be bringing the songs from her gorgeous new album, Love, Inevitable, home to Halifax for a special Valentine’s Day 2020 concert at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium. Today, she is thrilled to announce that two more tour dates – in Ottawa and Montreal – have been added for February. Tickets are on sale now – full details can be found below.

Along with the announcement of the new tour dates, Grant shares a brand new song – The Party. Born out of a writing trip in Nashville this fall, the track was co-written with local artist, Mary Bragg, and plays as a sort of “alt-holiday” song – an ode to lonely people joining the party again! Have a listen here.

“The Party is a story about a woman, filled with anticipation in those moments while getting ready for the party, which sometimes feels like the best part,” comments Grant. “It’s about the evening to come, of dancing and love and loneliness and gathering. And something that resonates with this time of year, under all the sparkling lights.

Jenn’s latest album, Love, Inevitable, was released in June and is a marker for a period of change in Grant’s life; of moving through one moment and leaving it behind, almost carefree, for another.  After making four consecutive albums with her husband, Daniel Ledwell (and being nominated for three JUNO Awards), Grant stepped out of her usual comfort zone and reached out to Grammy nominated American producer and engineer, Tucker Martine. A synergetic and collaborative team was born, spending the bulk of the summer months recording in Portland, Oregon. Grant celebrated the release with a cross-Canada tour, enthralling audiences across the country with the new heartfelt songs, and went on to earn five Music Nova Scotia award nominations – Entertainer of the Year, Digital Artist of the Year, Folk Recording of the Year, Solo Recording of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year for Keep A Light On.

“Grant's gorgeous voice swoops and soars across shimmering pop anthems, folk gems, and sunset ballads.” – CBC Music
