HEALTH COLLABORATE WITH JPEGMAFIA ON NEW SINGLE HATE YOU OUT NOW VIA LOMA VISTA RECORDINGS

ACCLAIMED NEW ALBUM VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR

ON TOUR THIS SPRING WITH YOUTH CODE INCLUDING STOPS IN VANCOUVER AND TORONTO

Toronto, ON – February 22, 2019 – Today, HEALTH released HATE YOU, a new single in collaboration with rapper and producer, JPEGMAFIA.  Though it’s an unexpected pairing, JPEGMAFIA was a fan of HEALTH since their MAX PAYNE 3 soundtrack. Listen on YouTube and at all DSPs.

HATE YOU is their fourth collaborative track following singles with Youth Code (INNOCENCE), Perturbator (BODY/PRISON), and Soccer Mommy/Corin Roddick of Purity Ring (MASS GRAVE).

Earlier this week, Revolver Magazine released live video of HEALTH’s full concert at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere Zone One via Facebook Live (WATCH HERE). Their acclaimed new album VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR, produced by longtime collaborator, Lars Stalfors (Lil Peep, St. Vincent, Bob Moses), was released on February 22nd  via Loma Vista Recordings to acclaim from New York Magazine, Revolver (video interview), Kerrang!, Metal Injection (9/10 stars), The Line of Best Fit (8/10 stars), DIY Magazine (4/5 stars), Exclaim! (7/10 stars), London in Stereo, Brooklyn Vegan, and more. VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR is available for streaming and purchase HERE.

The LA-based band of Jacob Duzsik, John Famiglietti, and Benjamin Miller are currently touring Europe and will kick off a headlining North American tour with Youth Code on April 9th. Shows include Vancouver’s Venue Nightclub on April 13th, Toronto’s Velvet Underground on April 23rd, NYC’s Elsewhere The Hall on April 25th and LA’s Teragram Ballroom on May 10th.

HEALTH has always pushed the edges of aggression. From its twitchy 2007 debut, through its groundbreaking 2012 score for Rockstar Games’ Max Payne 3 and Grand Theft Auto V’s original High Pressure Dave, to 2015’s acclaimed LP DEATH MAGIC, the L.A. band snuck beauty and rigor into blinding noise. They draped moody violence over trap beats and warehouse raves alike.

Few artists were better prepared to confront the confusion of life in 2019. With its new album VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR, the trio has not only made the heaviest, most genre-obliterating album of its career. They’ve documented just how frightening it feels to be alive right now.

VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR uses every tool in contemporary production to make a terrifying, exhilarating LP. But beneath all of that, VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR also has some of the most vulnerable and evocative songwriting of HEALTH’s career. In the lyrics, singer Jake Duzsik confronts death, isolation and hopelessness with an uncommon candor and intimacy.

Praise For VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR:

"...one of the most intense and electrifying bands in the U.S." - Kerrang!

"...the band approaches at times Ministry-like levels of industrial-metal aggression." - Revolver

“HEALTH's most ominous, brooding, and diverse effort yet --
and consequently their best.”
- Metal Injection, 9/10 stars

"Ambitious L.A. noise-rock trio HEALTH pushes the envelope even further on album No. 4. The title’s nod to Black Sabbath is apropos; new songs introduce a shock of metal to its daring blend of dance music and forbidding noise textures."  - New York Magazine

"Through the medium of abrasive beats and tortured, explosive synth textures the band tackle the world’s uneasy conscience, resulting in a remarkably cathartic listen." - The Line of Best Fit, 8/10 stars

"...the trio deliver at once their heaviest, catchiest, most decipherable and least predictable album.... HEALTH meld the spiraling instrumentation of their earliest work, with the hooky structure of last album 'DEATH MAGIC' and then coat this creation in the blackest industrial ooze." - DIY Magazine, 4/5 stars

“VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR is filled with perversely catchy songs about death and hopelessness.” - All Music, 4/5 stars

“They have indeed gotten even heavier on VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR, which doesn’t sound like an indie/noise band experimenting with industrial music but a true industrial record.” - Brooklyn Vegan

“...one of the most substantial industrial rock records of recent memory.- HYPEBEAST

“VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR is a career-defining achievement...” - Sputnik Reviews, 5/5 stars

“...an intense, dark and aggressive album, arguably their heaviest to date.” - Treble Magazine, ‘Album of the Week’

"HEALTH are still very capable of smashing your ears with a heavy synth and guitar lead, backed up machine-gun rhythms and four-on-the-floor drums." - Exclaim!

"...a heavy and exhilarating dance track, but its lyrics clash with a moody, existential vulnerability." - Stereogum
