HARRISON SHARES NEW VIDEO FOR CELICA SUPRA

FIRST SINGLE FROM SOPHOMORE ALBUM

SET FOR RELEASE FALL 2018 VIA LAST GANG RECORDS

PERFORMING IN TORONTO TONIGHT AT THE GARRISON FOR NXNE

Toronto, ON – June 15, 2018 – Today, Toronto artist, Harrison, shares his self-edited video for Celica Supra. The track is the first from his forthcoming sophomore album, due this fall via Last Gang Records. It follows his debut, Checkpoint Titanium, which received immediate praise, including a 2017 JUNO nomination for Electronic Album of the Year, and spawned two Prism Prize-nominated videos. Watch the video for Celica Supra here, and catch Harrison in Toronto tonight at The Garrison for North By Northeast Festival (complete details below).

On the track, Harrison comments, “Celica Supra was actually the song I decided to base the album around. Around that time, I was looking to buy my first car, and there was a Celica Supra up on Kijiji that I was obsessed with. I didn't end up buying it because it was a project car with way too much work to be done.”

The video continues a series of clips Harrison has been sharing on social media leading up to the release. Executed with audience in mind, the footage syncs with the song, right down to the BPM, with Harrison’s Instagram edits leading into a longer format video.

“Those videos from the late 80s and 90s are footage from a period I idolize, but was never around to experience,” Harrison says of the visual direction for the piece. “I feel like there’s a certain warmth that radiate from the videos especially the ones where people are dancing because of the lack of cellphones. That makes me feel good.”

Checkpoint Titanium was released on September 9, 2016 via Last Gang Records. The JUNO-nominated album was highlighted through features in The FADER, Exclaim!, Noisey, CBC Music and Apple Music’s Beats 1. It features an array of collaborators including a l l i e (Vertigo), Ryan Hemsworth (Vanilla) and Young Guv (So Far From Home). His videos for album singles, It’s Okay I Promise (featuring Clairmont The Second), and Right Hook (directed by Eva Michon) received nods from the esteemed Prism Prize, a national juried award recognizing the artistry of the modern music video in Canada.  Harrison shared the music with international audiences, performing across Canada and throughout Asia, with festival sets at Osheaga, Halifax Pop Explosion, Rifflandia, Toronto’s Field Trip and TIME Festivals, Bastid’s BBQ, and Hamilton’s Supercrawl, amongst others. Keep an eye out for more info and sounds from Harrison’s new album, and catch him live in Toronto tonight!
