Toronto, ON – February 7, 2020 –Yesterday, Denzel Curry and Kenny Beatssurprised fans with a new album. Titled UNLOCKED, the collaborative album is the product of a manic three-day studio session following Denzel's widely-acclaimed visit to Kenny's studio for the first season finale of his YouTube show, The Cave. The album is unlike anything you've heard from Denzel or Kenny before, with two of the brightest young stars in hip-hop exploring unexpected sounds outside of their respective catalogues, drawing from the likes of Wu-Tang, Madlib, J Dilla and MF Doom. The result is a body of work that sees Denzel setting the tone for a new decade that began with him paving the sound of the 2010's as a member of Raider Klan.

To accompany the surprise album, Denzel and Kenny are also sharing a 24-minute animated film  by Psycho Films that includes all of UNLOCKED'seight songs. The film captures Denzel and Kenny's journey into the expanse of the internet to chase their leaked album, venturing across a number of animated worlds to recover UNLOCKED track-by-track. They will also be releasing physical copies of the album on their Webstore, including a limited-edition clear vinyl, a CD with a jewelbox CD case and poster, and a limited-edition purple shelled cassette.

The album kicks off the new decade for Denzel, which will see him continue to build off a breakout 2019 with upcoming performances at Coachella and two Red Bull Zeltron World Wide events in Miami and Oakland. Last year saw Denzel release his critically-acclaimed album, ZUU, which was named one of the best albums of the year by Complex, Pitchfork,Exclaim!and Stereogum, in addition to being named the #1 Lyricist of 2019 by Genius, touring alongside Billie Eilish and the $UICIDEBOY$, and making his late-night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
