DCF SHARES NEW SINGLE ONE TIME

CELEBRATES SUCCESS OF CO-WRITES
INCLUDING SEVEN SONGS EARNING 2020 JUNO AWARD NOMINATIONS

Toronto, ON – February 14, 2020 – DCF isn’t afraid to love pop music. With a style that crosses between the sensibilities of Frank Ocean, and the springy croon of Justin Timberlake, with a layer of undeniable Drake-confidence, DCF has been crafting a unique brand of neo-pop. After releasing a string of undeniably infectious singles, and collaborating on some of the biggest songs to come out of Canada in 2019, DCF returns with a brand new track – One Time. Listen to the FrancisGotHeat-produced slow jam here – the perfect addition to your Valentine’s Day soundtrack!

While crafting his own music, DCF has amassed an impressive list of co-write credits over the past year and half. Seven of the songs that he has collaborated on have earned nominations in six different 2020 JUNO Award categories, including three co-writes on Bulow’s Pop Album of the Year-nominated record, Crystalline – Boys Will Be Boys (Songwriter of the Year), Two Punks In Love (Songwriter of the Year) and Sweet Little Lies (Single of the Year, Songwriter of the Year); Ralph’s single, Gravity, which is up for Dance Recording of the Year; two co-writes on Dan Bremnes’ tracks, Up Again, and Scars, which appear on his Contemporary Christian Gospel Album of the Year-nominated record, Wherever I Go; and the Gold-Certified Virginia to Vegas track, Just Friends, which earned a nomination for Producer of the Year (Mike Wise). Additionally, he has been collaborating on tracks with rising singer-songwriter, Ren, and international artists, Shaed and X Lovers.

DCF’s (aka David Charles Fischer) affection for the genre inspired him to release his interpretations of some of the most recognizable millennial hits in a series of attention-grabbing online mixtapes. While anchoring these tuneful samples with straight up honest lyrics and a wink to his trademark ironic "bad boy next door" persona, DCF started tapping into an online fan base of alternative music fans wondering if pop music actually is for them. His instantly hummable mixtape offerings soon led to his first indie release, Pop Songs – an EP of original songs brimming with standout pop hooks, indelible melodies, and lyrics that flirt with less-than-sober twenty-something melancholy. His live show has been packing Toronto clubs, with fans and friends eager to support their homegrown pop-prince and newcomers feeling like they’ve stumbled onto the tipping point of an artist about to drop.
