Toronto, ON – June 14, 2019 – Sydney-raised, Halifax-based singer-songwriter, Dave Sampson, is gearing up to release a new album later this year, and today he shares the first taste of new music with the track Trouble. Giving audiences a sneak peek at what’s to come with the new record, Sampson will embark on a run of tour dates across Canada through the summer. See below for full details.

"I'm really looking forward to getting back on the road this summer with the band and playing for some new audiences around Canada,” Sampson says. “After spending the last year writing and recording, it’s really exciting to get out and play these songs."

Trouble was written three years ago at the Gordie Sampson Song Camp, by Dave Sampson’s friends and collaborators, Brandon Davis JR, Gordie Sampson – who has penned numerous country songs for the likes of Rascal Flats, Keith Urban, Thomas Rhett and many more, and co-wrote the Carrie Underwood hit, Jesus Take The Wheel – and Caitlyn Smith (Nashville) – who has written songs for John Legend and Meghan Trainor.

“This song has always resonated with me and my audience and I am thrilled to release it to the world,” continues Sampson. “This song speaks for itself, It's about someone who is trying their best to stay out of trouble, but inevitably it always comes around."

Sampson writes heart-on-your-sleeve folk/pop songs, delivered with a captivating and authentic voice that could blow down a brick house. His knack for crafting simple ear-worms, and his high-energy shows, have been winning him fans across Canada. He has collaborated with some of Canada’s top exports, such as Classified, Gordie Sampson, Alan Doyle and Donovan Woods, and was chosen as one of Canada’s Top 5 emerging artists by Canada’s Walk of Fame. Recently, he co-wrote the song No Pressure, with rappers, Classified and Snoop Dogg, which went on to become certified Gold in Canada.

Sampson has also been hand-picked as one of Nova Scotia's most promising young songwriters to take part in the prestigious, invitation-only Gordie Sampson Song Camp for the past five years. Through this opportunity, he has been fortunate enough to collaborate with some of Canada’s most sought-after writers: Gordie Sampson, Caitlyn Smith (Nashville), Mo Kenney, Donovan Woods, Port Cities and Neon Dreams.

Stay tuned for more from Dave Sampson throughout 2019!
