CURRENT SWELL ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
BRINGING NEW TUNES TO THE ROAD THIS MAY
Toronto, ON – April 20, 2022 – Canadian indie-rockers, Current Swell, are hitting the road this spring for a North American tour and are kicking things off May 5 in Kingston at The Mansion. The tour will see the Victoria B.C. three-piece rip through southern Ontario, parts of Quebec, and northeast U.S.A., before heading back to Canada. Current Swell will be bringing some new tunes to the road that they’ve been working on the past few years, as well as playing hits from their latest full-length, Buffalo, among other favourites.
"Can't wait to get back on the road and see everyone out east!,” offers the band. “Davers can't make this tour but we're so lucky to have our best pal Jesse to step in and slay. We'll be rocking hard with all our favourite songs and maybe some surprises in there to keep things interesting. We’ve been working on some new material and the tour life always inspires so be ready for anything and everything this time around. It's been wayyyy too long!"
Like all other bands, Current Swell had to adjust their touring plans over the last few years but that didn’t stop them from headlining the All Ways Home festival in Victoria in 2021 and being the first band to play for a live audience (in over 500 days) at the Commodore in Vancouver in November 2021.
Offers Jesse Roper, “It was kind of a surreal moment getting the call asking if I could fill in on the tour. The answer was an obvious yes. I’m so ready to leave my house for anything music and for it to be a cool new experience like this, I was stoked. It’s also been really interesting digging into learning these tunes and seeing how Scotty and Davers write. When you just listen it, it all floats by in a nice package. I’ve enjoyed dissecting the music a bit and letting it influence my writing at the same time. Super cool. Hopefully I can do Davers justice up there and nail the parts and the vibe.”
