TORONTO, ON – March 1, 2022 - Today, Loma Vista's (Soccer Mommy, Local Natives, St. Vincent) latest signing, Miloe, née Bob Kabeya, releases a new song, where u are, which follows Greenhouse EP (2020) and hit single Winona, that was later reimagined featuring Jamila Woods and Vagabon, garnering critical press from Stereogum, Paste, Cool Hunting and more. Listen to where u are and watch the video here.

where u are is a glittering, bouncy track, accompanied by a video directed by Samson Melkamu. The beautiful new video captures the immigrant experience, it opens with footage of Miloe, his three brothers and mother being reunited (under the Family Reunification Act) with his father at Minneapolis St. Paul Airport after three years apart due to political conflict in the Congo. The heart-rending video is a stunning reflection on Miloe’s family life in America, and how it has affected his work as a musician.

On the track, Miloe says, “I was feeling down and wanted to make a dance song to get some positive energy in me. I’m kinda singing to myself so it feels like it's about self love, acceptance and finding joy within.”

Miloe is the musical project of Bob Kabeya, a 21-year old artist based in Minneapolis. Growing up in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bobby was raised by musical parents who met through the church choir during college and taught him to play the piano at the age of six.

When he was eight years old Bobby traveled over 7,000 miles with his mother and three younger brothers to reunite with their father, a journalist who was granted asylum in Minneapolis three years prior. Once in the US, Bobby began to pick-up more instruments through the local art and after-school programs, eventually beginning to jam with friends outside of school in his early teens.
