COCO MÉLIÈS ANNOUNCE EUROPEAN AND QUEBEC TOUR DATES

WIN VOCAL GROUP OF THE YEAR
AT THE 2017 CANADIAN FOLK MUSIC AWARDS

Toronto, ON – November 21, 2017 – This past weekend, Coco Méliès was awarded Vocal Group of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards, where they performed at the ceremony held in Ottawa. Now, the duo is set to hit the road to perform across the Atlantic, with stops in London and France. In the new year, they will head home for a run of shows in Quebec. Full details can be found below and at coco-melies.com.

A chance meeting during an open mic night in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest neighbourhood was all it took to seal the professional destinies of Francesca Como and David Méliès. Musical chemistry having done its work, the composer-singer-songwriters embarked on a fruitful collaboration on the spot.

In 2011, the duo released The Walking Birds, a noted first calling card that took them to a variety of stages in Quebec, the United States and France. After two years on the road and a first place at the Sherbrooklyn contest, they returned to Montreal to release their first folk album, Lighthouse. In 2016, they signed with Audiogram, and while recording pieces for their second album, the pair continued with concerts, opening for Matt Holubowski and The Franklin Electric. Their latest album, The Riddle, was released earlier this year and sees the duo team up with bassist, Julien Thibault, and drummer, Simon Bilodeau. Coproduced by Connor Seidel (Matt Holubowski), this new opus reconnects us with the Coco Méliès way: refined melodies, captivating harmonies and a thoughtful blend of softness and strength.
