Toronto, ON – May 7, 2021 – Following their successful 2020 collaboration EP, Montreal producer/artist, Anomalie, reunites with GRAMMY-winning and JUNO-heralded duo, Chromeo, to share something fresh on Bend The Rules Deluxe – a rework of their original project including an array of track flips by an international and diverse producer lineup, including Stones Throw beat wizard, Mndsgn, electro-soul favourite, Full Crate, and the legendary Neo-Soul and Broken Beat pioneer, Vikter Duplaix. Chromeo and Anomalie also included Brain Tan and Quizzo, the winners of the remix contest they held on Twitch at the end of last year, making this the first major release for the producers. The EP is out today via Chromeo’s new imprint, Juliet Records – in partnership with their longtime label, Last Gang Records. Listen to the album here.
The remix package was curated by legendary DJ/producer/turntablist A-Trak, who is also a partner in Juliet. The artwork, seen above, was once again created by Mat Maitland (Michael Jackson, Prince, Disclosure, Basement Jaxx). Everything kicked off with the Mndsgn beat and keys-driven remix of Bend The Rules, followed by a groovy take from Full Crate, to Vikter Duplaix’s soulful flip of Champ De Mars, out today.
With Deluxe streams combined, Bend The Rules has now surpassed 930K+ global streams, while Chromeo joined Strombo for an in-depth chat last year for his Apple Music HITS program, airing globally – listen here. Bend The Rules showcases Anomalie’s signature beats-heavy jazz throughout, dressed in the analogue synth textures that the Funklordz are known for. Anomalie is in a singular position: his fanbase is a combination of the new jazz scene (Snarky Puppy, Thundercat, Louis Cole), the soulful beats scene (FKJ, Masego, Tom Misch) and the post dubstep electronic scene (Griz, Odesza, Opiuo). He’s at once a piano virtuoso, a keyboard whiz and a skilled producer and songwriter that has toured worldwide and performed at the likes of Red Rocks and Electric Forest Festival.

About Anomalie
Anomalie is the live electronic project of Nicolas Dupuis, a classically trained keyboardist and producer based in Montreal, QC. Rising to worldwide fame after the release of his two EPs, Metropole Part I and II, Anomalie has developed a unique musical identity through an innovative combination of cutting-edge electronic production, jazz and classical harmonies, and undeniably raw funk groove. His music has attracted fans worldwide, including modern musical heavyweights such as Charlie Puth, Chromeo, Thundercat, and Snarky Puppy. By the end of 2018, he sold out his entire North America, European, and Asian tours alongside his intricate 4-piece live band and grew his online following in the millions across social media. Chromeo’s David “Dave 1” Macklovich and Patrick “P-Thugg” Gemayel have turned an inseparable childhood friendship into a musical career that grows stronger than ever in its second decade, launching them from Montreal basements to the main stage at Coachella.
