SOPHOMORE ALBUM NAKED OUT MARCH 20

Toronto, ON – March 4, 2020 – Today, Aliocha presents the captivating and soulful, Peggy (Stone Breaker), the third single from his anticipated sophomore album, Naked, set for release on March 20 via Audiogram. Have a listen here and watch the accompanying video here.

A strange, yet captivating, dancer takes us through the streets of Paris in the video, which was once again directed by Aliocha himself, along with his brother, Vassili.

“Oko is a friend of mine,” comments Aliocha. “He is an incredible dancer and singer, always strolling around Paris with his speakers blasting. He dances with passers-by and enlightens everyone’s mood. He agreed to have us film him doing his thing. We simply found a costume and a wig and shot the video in one three-hour-long take.”

Stripped guitars, sensual grooves, raw poetry…Aliocha is bold enough to keep it simple on Naked, his second album, which sees the artist taking a no-frills approach. Shaking off his most obvious folk influences, the singer-songwriter has built a unique and unexpected signature sound, at the crossroads between rock, soul, blues, and dream pop.

Once again produced by Samy Osta, Naked was recorded over a few months in Paris, harnessing the sparkling chemistry between the French producer and Québécois artist. From the entrancing and bewildering opener, The Party, to a foray into psych Americana with Moon, through the bewitching soul diatribe, Peggy, the surprising bluesy trap musings of Turn to Grey, the languorous, Your Sex Is Perfect, and the sober folk lament, Run Baby Run, Aliocha bares himself with poise and sensitivity, without shame or embarrassment.
