ALIOCHA PRESENTS SENSUAL, PARED DOWN AND POINTED SECOND ALBUM NAKED TODAY

Toronto, ON – March 20, 2020 – Aliocha reveals himself in his purest form on Naked, his second album available today. Stripped guitars, sensual grooves, raw poetry – Aliocha is bold enough to keep it simple on Naked, a second album that takes a no-frills approach. Shaking off his most obvious folk influences, the singer-songwriter belonging to the talented Schneider family has built a unique and unexpected signature sound, at the crossroads between rock, soul, blues, and dream pop.

At the heart of this daring and self-assured opus: an enthralling voice, with equal parts sensuality and bite. A voice that takes all the space it deserves, while leaving room for spare arrangements, full and rich in their simplicity. Once again, production duties were entrusted to none other than Samy Osta, responsible for, among others, Feu! Chatterton's acclaimed L’oiseleur. The follow-up to Eleven Songs (2017) was recorded in Paris over the last few months, harnessing the sparkling chemistry between the French producer and Québécois artist.

From the entrancing and bewildering opener The Party to a foray into psych Americana territory with Moon, through the bewitching soul diatribe Peggy, the surprising bluesy trap musings of Turn to Grey, the languorous Your Sex Is Perfect, and sober folk lament Run Baby Run, Aliocha bares himself with poise and sensitivity, without shame or embarrassment.

This second album arrives at a turning point in the singer and actor's career. Bolstered by millions of listens on streaming platforms, Aliocha had the opportunity to perform in many well-known festivals over the last few years, including the Montreal International Jazz Festival, The Great Escape in Brighton, Reeperbahn in Hamburg, the Printemps de Bourges, and FNAC Live in Paris. With a foothold in both Europe and Canada, the artist now has the entire world in his sights.
