SOPHOMORE ALBUM SET TO DROP THIS FALL

Toronto, ON – September 13, 2019 – Today, Vancouver Island-raised musician, Alexandria Maillot, announces that she will be touring with fellow Vancouver singer-songwriter, Louise Burns, on Burns’ Portraits Tour. Maillot will join Burns on six dates, kicking off on November 3 in Calgary and wrapping in Montreal on November 15. See below for full details.

Maillot will be bringing audiences songs from her highly-anticipated sophomore album, which is set for release later this fall, including her third new single, The Judge, which drops on September 27. Fans  were given a taste of what the new album is set to bring with previously-released singles, Make It Out, and Messed It Up, and now the official countdown is nearing close! "It will be a tremendous feeling to take these new songs on the road with a full band,” comments Maillot. “It's the start of a new chapter, and we can't wait to see the live iterations of our upcoming album blossom onstage."

Maillot’s resume is as colourful as her genre-blending timbre. Her gritted, inflective vocals and lyrical narratives have often drawn comparisons to music heavyweights such as Feist, Stevie Nicks, and Alabama Shakes’, Brittany Howard. Performing since the age of seven, she has already amassed an impressive list credits, including being scouted by David Foster at age 12, working with Randy Bachman, and even being featured on the Oprah Winfrey network. The 2016 release of her debut album, Time, has proven to be a body of work that has merited national radio attention and widespread critical acclaim amongst industry peers and music lovers alike. 

Maillot’s new music digs deep; it’s the gut wrench of a heartbreak, the belly drop of a rollercoaster. It’s abrasive – as if you are a part of an altercation – and yet, it is refreshing to the ear with its genre-defining sounds; a fusion of southern rock and old country, all wrapped up in a 90s aesthetic.
