A TRIBE CALLED RED SHARE INDIAN CITY MUSIC VIDEO

VIDEO PREMIERES WITH FADER

WE ARE THE HALLUCI NATION OUT NOW NOMINATED FOR ELECTRONIC ALBUM OF THE YEAR AT THE 2017 JUNO AWARDS

Toronto, ON – February 21, 2017 – Today, A Tribe Called Red shares the video for Indian City ft. Black Bear – the next visual installment from their critically acclaimed record, We Are The Halluci Nation (Pirates Blend). The video (created with support from Canada Council For The Arts and Sesqui), which was shot in Toronto, premiered yesterday exclusively with FADER.

“Like many movements, the Halluci Nation grew from a place of necessity. Long before we fought in the streets, our first battles were fought on the dance floor. Some of us have learned about our culture from birth, being taught to sing, drum and dance like we were being shown to speak and walk. Some of us have found our way first through beats, breaking and turntablism, only to find it leading us back to our roots. The movement carries memories and the drums are kept deep in our chests, no matter how hard they tried to rip them out. So, we learned to dance on these city streets and write our songs on digital drums.” – Oral History of the Halluci Nation

Featuring appearances by from Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def), Saul Williams, Polaris Prize-winning throat singer Tanya Tagaq, Shad, Lido Pimienta, Leonard Sumner, John Trudell, Northern Voice, The Chippewa Travellers, and more, We Are The Halluci Nation is a visionary blend of electronic and dance music that’s forward-thinking with a deep sense of heritage and cultural identity. The album hit #1 on the iTunes Canada Top 200, spent two weeks at #1 on Earshot!, and reached #2 on the iTunes USA Top 200 Electronic chart. We Are The Halluci Nation has earned the group three nominations at the 2017 JUNO Awards: Electronic Album of the Year, Producer of the Year, and Video of the Year for the single, R.E.D.

“A visionary trio of DJs…there probably isn’t anything else like it on Earth.”
